Hey! How are you feeling? It’s your emotions talking to you!

When was the last time that you checked in with me? Well, I can tell you that YOU ARE OVERDUE, because you have not been paying attention to how you feel!

Holding me inside, while you live your life as if everything is OK works for awhile……until it doesn’t. Mental or psychological challenges are just as important as physical symptoms and medical conditions. Ignoring me can have serious consequences (self-harm and suicide) and can manifest itself in many negative ways in your life.

Here are some things to try to help manage your emotions:

  • Journal/write down how you feel every day (physically and mentally) or at least weekly. Doing this can help you feel better and keep you in touch with me!
  • Often we are afraid to tell people NO. NO is a complete sentence! Use it! Tell others NO and say YES to yourself. Get a “NO” Coach if you need one. A “NO” Coach is a friend that supports you and that you support in saying NO and sticking to it.
  • Get enough sleep. Your emotional health needs a well rested brain. Optimal sleep time is at least 7-9 hours.
  • Talk to your doctor ASAP if you are noticing being out of control with feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed or sad and down. Don’t wait thinking that it’s just going to GO AWAY.
  • Don’t put off talking to a therapist for help with managing your emotions.

I am how you feel. Do not ignore me. When you take care of me, I can take care of you.
