Hey! It’s your eyes!

I am often referred to as “The Window to the Soul”, but to you, I open when you wake up and
close at night and as long as I do this, you don’t think about me much..until you have to think about me.

Like when you can’t see or read words as well or have blurry vision. But ask yourself………

“When is the last time I went to an eye doctor to get my eyes
checked????!!”

  • You should get an eye exam ASAP if you are having any trouble with reading, seeing while
driving (especially at night) and any other changes in your vision, keeping in mind that
changes in vision can be gradual and subtle.
  • If you have already been diagnosed with diabetes, you should get your eyes checked once a year…..full stop! Diabetes can damage the eyes without you being aware of it.
  • You should be getting regular eye exams (every 2 years), including a dilated eye exam (eye
drops in the eyes during the eye exam so the back of the eyes can be well seen) even if you
are not having visual changes. Eye exams can find glaucoma (high pressure in the eyes),
cataracts and eye disease that are not causing any symptoms yet.
  • Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness in this country. Diabetic eye disease I see you. Don’t ignore me. You take care of me and I’ll take care of you.

Love,
Your Eyes
